Intro Blog

 Hello, my name is Daniel, and I am a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High school. This is my first blog post of many more to come. I am an ACIE Media student who has an interest in film. I love Disney, Marvel and DC movies. Ever since we learned all of the vocab words, I have been watching movies and TV shows differently, pointing out all of the angles and shots. I love to play sports; my favorite sport is pickleball. Pickleball is a mix between tennis and ping pong. It is a racket sport played with a type of whiffle ball. I am very excited to be working on a commercial. I had to do a commercial in eighth grade for drama class which was so much fun, and I am hoping that this will be even better. It is true that this commercial is in more depth, but I am hoping that it with increases my skills in the film industry. Something I love to do is go lobstering with my family in the keys because we have a time share out there. My grandparents have a boat that we use, and the GPS is loaded with spots to check. One of the best things to do is sit on the dock and watch the sunset and take pictures. I also love tubing and wakeboarding in the keys with my cousins. I am hoping to learn from this first commercial so I can do better in later and more complicated commercials. I also hope to be in A level AICE Media Studies. One Hobbie that I have tried is water polo. Water polo was very difficult for me because I got cramps trying to kick in the water. As you can see I am very excited for this class and all to come from it.

Editing for My Final Task

  Welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm excited to talk about the editing process for my final task. Unlike last year, where I had a lot of help from my group, this year I'm alone. Last year, Rhys from my group took charge of most of the editing, and the video turned out great. However, this time around, I don't have that luxury. So, I had to figure it out on my own and I learned some new skills in the process. First things first, I scouted out different software options for editing. Many required payment or personal information. I then stumbled upon CapCut, which turned out to be a great choice. Once I imported my clips and added them to the software, along with the opening credits I'd already prepared, I was surprised to find that my footage exceeded five minutes. Production Blog: Planning

  Welcome back to my blog. In this blog I will talk about the planning process that took place. My group mates and I worked very hard to plan out our final project. There were many steps that were involved in making our final project. One of the major things that we had to do was our storyboard. The storyboard is a scene-by-scene depiction of what we are going to film. This is very helpful when filming because we have something to go off of rather than just trying to throw it all together last minute. Another thing that was really helpful when planning was our title research because we were able to find similar movies and look at their opening scenes in order to get ideas of what we would like to do. This also helped with the storyboard because we were able to decide where to embed titles. It is very important to consider placement of where these titles should go.
