AICE Mediastudies commercial



This is the final commercial we have produced. We started this project in late September, and since then me and my team have been working towards this. It has taken about a month in total to get to this point. Throughout this process things were not easy, but I am proud of the final product. Despite this, there are things that we could have been improved upon. First of all, there are things that could have been made clearer. We included a pan in the commercial, but it is hard to notice. A lot of this may have come down to camerawork that needs improving. With some work, I think me, and my teammates be much better at showing exactly what we intended. Another thing that could have been improved upon was the acting. While it is separate from filming and editing, acting is still something of great significance. I feel as if we neglected acting in this production. One main issue was that we did not practice acting before we started filming. On top of that, we came up with our script on the spot. Further preparation the next time we film could definitely improve both of these things. Despite these few flaws, I believe our execution was great. We had several good camera angles and shot distances. I think we used all of these effectively to improve our storytelling. I hope to continue improving my filmmaking and learning more things in the future.

Editing for My Final Task

  Welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm excited to talk about the editing process for my final task. Unlike last year, where I had a lot of help from my group, this year I'm alone. Last year, Rhys from my group took charge of most of the editing, and the video turned out great. However, this time around, I don't have that luxury. So, I had to figure it out on my own and I learned some new skills in the process. First things first, I scouted out different software options for editing. Many required payment or personal information. I then stumbled upon CapCut, which turned out to be a great choice. Once I imported my clips and added them to the software, along with the opening credits I'd already prepared, I was surprised to find that my footage exceeded five minutes. Production Blog: Planning

  Welcome back to my blog. In this blog I will talk about the planning process that took place. My group mates and I worked very hard to plan out our final project. There were many steps that were involved in making our final project. One of the major things that we had to do was our storyboard. The storyboard is a scene-by-scene depiction of what we are going to film. This is very helpful when filming because we have something to go off of rather than just trying to throw it all together last minute. Another thing that was really helpful when planning was our title research because we were able to find similar movies and look at their opening scenes in order to get ideas of what we would like to do. This also helped with the storyboard because we were able to decide where to embed titles. It is very important to consider placement of where these titles should go.
