1.       My product uses conventions by showing a skinny guy working out. He then uses the PRIME energy drink product and becomes stronger than the bigger guy. Our commercial represents groups who are interested in being athletes or improving their strength and energy levels.

2.       Our product engages with audiences by connecting with those who wish to be stronger. As a real media text, we would distribute this commercial on social media. We could target people who identify as athletes or are focused on strength training.

3.       My production skills developed throughout this project because I had real world experience creating a commercial from start to finish. I learned to always plan out the commercial thoroughly on a storyboard. I also learned to make sure props are positioned correctly and camera angles work for the shot. One skill I really developed was finding locations for filming. Before this project, I didn’t think about all of the things you need to consider when choosing a location. For example, lighting, people and noise in the background and how the location works with the product are all things I needed to think about when looking for a location to film.

4.       In this project the technology we used was a camera that one of my group partners had. We also used an editing that he had on his computer from a previous project. We used Google to research other commercials for similar products. We added music to our commercial after researching tense music and we used an online recorder to record my voice saying “Prime hydration” for the last shot.
