Production blog: Filming

Day 1 

Welcome back to my blog. In this blog I will talk about our first day of filming. The first day of filming was great. I felt that we were very productive, and although we got a lot accomplished. It was very difficult for us to all work together in order to make things happen. One reason for this was because my friends wanted to hang out rather than help us with our project. So it was very difficult for us to get them all sitting down and working together. We did have to take several breaks, and we just hung out and played games. The reason we did this was so they would be able to sit down once they did something fun. One big mistake was one of my friends did not wear a plain shirt. We need to plan shirt in order to embed some of our text into it. Luckily, I had a shirt from a long time ago that would fit him. It wasn’t the exact color we wanted but it would work. 


Day 2

For our second day of filming, it was a lot less effort because my friends did not need to be there. So it was just me and my group mates.  For the second day of filming, we will film our outdoor scenes. We started by filming me getting on my bike with Reese next to me. We were going to do it, so Luke was going to ride some thing behind us but we figured that would be too shaky so we decided that he would, just move the camera rather than follow. Something I think is interesting as we are using the cover of a tree to put two clips together to make it look like somebody disappeared.

Editing for My Final Task

  Welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm excited to talk about the editing process for my final task. Unlike last year, where I had a lot of help from my group, this year I'm alone. Last year, Rhys from my group took charge of most of the editing, and the video turned out great. However, this time around, I don't have that luxury. So, I had to figure it out on my own and I learned some new skills in the process. First things first, I scouted out different software options for editing. Many required payment or personal information. I then stumbled upon CapCut, which turned out to be a great choice. Once I imported my clips and added them to the software, along with the opening credits I'd already prepared, I was surprised to find that my footage exceeded five minutes. Production Blog: Planning

  Welcome back to my blog. In this blog I will talk about the planning process that took place. My group mates and I worked very hard to plan out our final project. There were many steps that were involved in making our final project. One of the major things that we had to do was our storyboard. The storyboard is a scene-by-scene depiction of what we are going to film. This is very helpful when filming because we have something to go off of rather than just trying to throw it all together last minute. Another thing that was really helpful when planning was our title research because we were able to find similar movies and look at their opening scenes in order to get ideas of what we would like to do. This also helped with the storyboard because we were able to decide where to embed titles. It is very important to consider placement of where these titles should go.
