Production blog

Welcome back to my blog.  In this blog I will be talking about the filming portion of our commercial. I was the first to get to our filming site, so I started scouting locations while I waited for Rush and Luc. Once they got there we sat down and discussed our game plan. We decided on a background with a lot of trees. We chose that because we wanted to make sure their weren’t any people or other distractions in the background to take your eye of the shots.  After our first shot we realized we had a big problem. We were right in the middle of a disc golf hole, with people waiting to throw. We had to stop filming for at least five minutes. We still decided to stay there to shoot our commercial because we loved how the background looked on camera. We just paid attention to when people came up to golf and stopped to let them play. We filmed two more scenes before more golfers came. While we waited for the golfers to play we used our wisely. We moved our stuff to a park bench to film the scene of our subject drinking PRIME After our first shoot for this scene we changed our minds about the set up. We chose to have our subject pick up his props off the park bench because it looked better than our original scene of him picking the stuff up off of the ground. There was music playing in the background at the park, so we also tried to time our shots between the songs playing. This was too difficult so we gave up and just filmed. We ended up overlaying music and/or sound anyway. One thing I wish we would have caught while filming was that our subject placed the bottle down on the table and the product logo was not fully showing. If we would have caught this we would have re filmed it and it would have made it better. Unfortunately, we had already left the location when we realized the product placement was not ideal and it was too late.
