Welcome back to my blog. In this blog I will talk about what we did to prepare to film the commercial and why we made the decisions we did. The first step in our project was to make sure we had all of our props, costumes, actors and a camera. We also needed to find a location to film. We brainstormed a list of possible props and locations. We tried to use things we already had, for instance one of the actors in the commercial had boxing gloves already. We ended up using those instead of buying new ones. After we decided that we were going to use his gloves we decided who would buy the energy drink. We decided I would buy the energy drink because of the store which had it in stock was closest to me. Prime energy drink is very hard to find right now. It was lucky that a store near me had it. Once we figured out what props we needed., we had to decide on a good location to film. We chose Snyder Park because two of my groupmates lived 5 minutes from there, so it was easy to get to for them. The park had a quiet place for us to film with a forest in the background. Another thing we did was decide on costumes. In the beginning we though athletic wear would be ok, but after some thought we decided to match the colors of the Prime bottle to our sportswear. We chose the main character in our commercial because he owned the boxing gloves, and he knows how to box. The group decided I should be the coach in the commercial because I was taller and more intimidating that anyone else. My groupmate Rhys loves to partake in photography and videography, so he has a professional camera that he uses to film. Rhys also had an editing software. We decided to use that to put our video together and add any special effects. As you can see this commercial was well thought out and a group effort.

Editing for My Final Task

  Welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm excited to talk about the editing process for my final task. Unlike last year, where I had a lot of help from my group, this year I'm alone. Last year, Rhys from my group took charge of most of the editing, and the video turned out great. However, this time around, I don't have that luxury. So, I had to figure it out on my own and I learned some new skills in the process. First things first, I scouted out different software options for editing. Many required payment or personal information. I then stumbled upon CapCut, which turned out to be a great choice. Once I imported my clips and added them to the software, along with the opening credits I'd already prepared, I was surprised to find that my footage exceeded five minutes. Production Blog: Planning

  Welcome back to my blog. In this blog I will talk about the planning process that took place. My group mates and I worked very hard to plan out our final project. There were many steps that were involved in making our final project. One of the major things that we had to do was our storyboard. The storyboard is a scene-by-scene depiction of what we are going to film. This is very helpful when filming because we have something to go off of rather than just trying to throw it all together last minute. Another thing that was really helpful when planning was our title research because we were able to find similar movies and look at their opening scenes in order to get ideas of what we would like to do. This also helped with the storyboard because we were able to decide where to embed titles. It is very important to consider placement of where these titles should go.
