Our Pitch
Pitch 1: After a mysterious disappearance, a group of friends must work together to unravel the mystery and find their friend, before it’s too late.
Pitch 2: An ex-military priest must put aside his values to rescue his niece from the clutches of a dangerous gang of criminals.
Pitch one explanation: Our group likes the idea of pitch one because it is simple and easy to execute. We have a solid idea in mind for how we’re going to do our two-minute scene. We also have an idea for how we will embed, “directed by,” in the scene. We have easy access to all the Mis En Scene that will be important. Setting is also important, but fortunately, we don’t have to worry too much about this, as much of it will take place outside. One possible downside to this pitch is that the pitch itself doesn’t interest us quite as much as pitch two. If we film at night, we would also have to deal with the issue of lighting.
Pitch two explanation: Our group also likes the idea of pitch two because the concept of the movie itself seems very interesting. We’d all love to make a movie from this pitch. Unfortunately, we do have to be realistic about what we can do. A lot of the Mis-En-Scene needed for this we do not already have, and they may be difficult to acquire. We also gave to worry about how we will embed, “directed by,” into the scene, as we don’t have a solid idea for this. On top of all this, we are unsure about where we will film this. Our initial idea was a church, but this may not be possible. An idea like this would be better left to someone who could properly film and edit it.
We choose pitch, “After a mysterious disappearance, a group of friends must work together to unravel the mystery and find their friend, before it’s too late.” We chose this pitch because, while it is the less interesting of the two, it is far more practical. The idea was also quite interesting in its own right, and would still make an interesting movie.
