Title Research: Birds of Prey


1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? 

The title sequence includes all the major and well-known roles like director, writer, producers, and actors. It also includes less well-known positions like director of photography, production designer, editors, music, music supervisors, visual effects supervisor, costume designer, and casting director. Of course, the sequence also includes the studio and production companies. 

 
2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? 

The opening sequence prioritizes visceral and otherworldly images. The opening sequence also has a focus on women, which carries on into the movie itself. 

 
3. What connotations do these images carry? 

These images carry very negative connotations. This is mainly due to the art style and gore featured in the images. Despite this, there are also some small positive connotations. The bright colors and empowering silhouettes of women provide this aspect. 

 
4. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? 

The bright colors and silhouettes establish a superhero genre. The imagery of weapons also establishes an actions genre. The more minor thriller genre is established by the art style, gore, and otherworldly images. 

 
5. What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? 

The imagery, gore, and focus on women helps the film appeal to a target audience women, girls, and fans of action, superhero, or bloody movies. 

 
6. How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles,  
transitions and editing techniques. 

The main use of technology was in the digital art that appeared throughout the title sequence.

Editing for My Final Task

  Welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm excited to talk about the editing process for my final task. Unlike last year, where I had a lot of help from my group, this year I'm alone. Last year, Rhys from my group took charge of most of the editing, and the video turned out great. However, this time around, I don't have that luxury. So, I had to figure it out on my own and I learned some new skills in the process. First things first, I scouted out different software options for editing. Many required payment or personal information. I then stumbled upon CapCut, which turned out to be a great choice. Once I imported my clips and added them to the software, along with the opening credits I'd already prepared, I was surprised to find that my footage exceeded five minutes. Production Blog: Planning

  Welcome back to my blog. In this blog I will talk about the planning process that took place. My group mates and I worked very hard to plan out our final project. There were many steps that were involved in making our final project. One of the major things that we had to do was our storyboard. The storyboard is a scene-by-scene depiction of what we are going to film. This is very helpful when filming because we have something to go off of rather than just trying to throw it all together last minute. Another thing that was really helpful when planning was our title research because we were able to find similar movies and look at their opening scenes in order to get ideas of what we would like to do. This also helped with the storyboard because we were able to decide where to embed titles. It is very important to consider placement of where these titles should go.
