How do your products engage with the audience?   My product engages with the audience because my movie is like what spring break is for college kids. You know how spring break can be a total whirlwind, right? Well, I've seen it firsthand, and it has its ups and downs. First things first, we're talking about those trips back home. Who doesn't love reuniting with friends and family? That's where it all happens, and that's exactly what my movie is all about. I dove deep into those long drives in my film that leave you feeling horrible. I'm talking about being so tired you can barely think straight because let's face it, we've all been there! But wait, there's more! Let's talk about family time. You know, that quick visit with mom and dad before you're off to party central with your pals. It's like a blink and you miss it moment, but it's super relatable. I mean, who wants to hang out with their parents when there's a whole world of f

Final Touches

Image
Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm excited to talk about the final touches I need to make to my short film before it's ready for the big reveal. First up, let's address the audio. I've received feedback that the dialogue volume and background music need some tweaking. The dialogue should be more prominent, and the background music should be toned down to strike the right balance. Another adjustment I've made is extending the duration of the black screen towards the end of the film. This change allows for a more impactful moment, providing viewers with a moment to reflect on what they've just seen. Once I felt satisfied with the edits to my film, I turned my attention to my website. It's essential to ensure everything is in working order before sharing my work with the world. To my surprise, I discovered that some of the links weren't functioning correctly. After sorting out the website issues, I shifted my focus to my postcard. With everyt

Peer Review

Image
Welcome back to my blog! Today, I want to dive into a peer review I received for my film. First I started by picking the person who would review my film. I picked my brother because he is very creative and I believe would have many great ideas. Let's break down what my peer had to say.  The embedded titles in the film need to be quicker and not as long. This feedback suggests that the titles I've added into my film are dragging on for too long. To fix this, I'll need to shorten the duration of the titles to keep the pacing of the film moving.  The black screen for the man passing out needs to be long. This comment indicates that the blackout scene where a character passes out needs to be extended. This adjustment is crucial for conveying the intensity or significance of the moment, allowing viewers to absorb the impact fully. The music is way too loud in the chase scenes. This feedback highlights an issue with the audio balance, specifically in the chase scenes. It's e

Editing for My Final Task

Image
Welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm excited to talk about the editing process for my final task. Unlike last year, where I had a lot of help from my group, this year I'm alone. Last year, Rhys from my group took charge of most of the editing, and the video turned out great. However, this time around, I don't have that luxury. So, I had to figure it out on my own and I learned some new skills in the process. First things first, I scouted out different software options for editing. Many required payment or personal information. I then stumbled upon CapCut, which turned out to be a great choice. Once I imported my clips and added them to the software, along with the opening credits I'd already prepared, I was surprised to find that my footage exceeded five minutes. Initially, this seemed overwhelming. It actually forced me to trim down unnecessary shots and focus solely on the story. With all my clips in the software, I began editing my opening scenes, embedding titles,

Day 3 of Filming!

Image
Welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm thrilled to share about the final day of filming for my short film. It's been quite a journey, and I'm so excited to see it all come together. Day 3 was a bit easier compared to the previous days since I didn’t need any actors besides myself and the shots weren't too difficult. But don't let that fool you. It was still a crucial day because these shots were most important in telling the story and setting up the ending. I started off the day by setting the scene for my film where I was driving to the Pickleball courts to meet my friends, feeling rushed and in a hurry. This rush led to some trouble when I went to hang up my bag and it ended up falling. It was a bit chaotic because my bag ended up falling behind someone else's, making it hard for me to spot. When filming each element I was focused to make sure the camera angles added to the storyline. As the story continued, despite the mishap, I continued playing pickleball, but

Filming Day 2 Setbacks

Image
Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm excited to share about day two of filming. It was the first day with actors, which meant we could add more dialogue and sound to the scenes. Before we started, I updated my storyboard with some tougher shots. When I showed my plans to my actor, we ran into a little problem. She didn't know how to ride a scooter for the scenes! It was unexpected, but we didn't let it stop us. Instead, I took the time to teach her how to ride the scooter. We started with the basics, like balancing and pushing off, and gradually worked our way up to more advanced moves. It took a lot of practice, but she was determined to get it right. As her confidence grew, so did her skills on the scooter. It was really rewarding to see her progress throughout the day. Despite the initial setback, her dedication and perseverance paid off in the end. Of course, teaching her how to ride the scooter did take up quite a bit of time. We had to adjust our filming
